Pool Noodle Valentine Wreath

Supplies:
2 pool noodles
2 skeins of loopy yarn
Duct tape or gaff tape
Glue Gun (low temp)
Serrated Knife and cutting board
Floral wire, Flowers, Ribbon

Directions:

Using serrated knife and cutting board make angled cuts (aprox. 45 degrees) to form top of heart.
Use narrow pieces of duct tape to secure the angle.  Once it is secure use larger pieces of duct tape until the joint is solid.
Bend the noodles away from each other to form a heart.  Using the knife again cut angels to make the point of the heart.   Secure in the same manner to make sure the joint is solid. (see below)

I put the tape on the entire heart as I would rather have the black tape show through instead of the green pool noodle.

Using a piece of floral wire you need to make your hook to hang the heart.  The piece was about 8" and I just folded it in half and twisted the ends.  Poke a hole through the tape and noodle on the back.  Use a glue gun to put some glue on the wire and insert.  I also secured the hook with a little more duct tape.
Now it is time to add the loopy yarn.  I ended up using 2 skeins of burgandy.

I used a low temp glue gun for this part.  I have had tons of experience burning my fingers with hot melt glue guns!!  (Funny, Not Funny) Start on the back of the wreath and put a small dot of hot glue.
Simply wind on the yarn and glue a spot every few rows.  You can also use fabric if you want.  It would be a really cute ragged heart.  I would use strips of torn fabric and tie on each strip.  What I did with the loopy yarn was super easy.

Add an accent ribbon and some silk flowers and you are done!!  Let me see your projects!!
Happy Crafting!!
